Kicking off 2007-2008
Its good to see people beginning to visit the website regularly again. By the time we hit the Canterbury Tournament the season should definitely be in full swing and the website will be flourishing. I am always happy to be around to watch the start.
If you didn’t know, this will be the 3rd season of on this website and the 7th season since its foundation. Things have definitely progressed over the years and the interest for wrestling in the Prep league has certainly grown over the years. There will be many great things that will occurs this year as it does every year. At this time I would like to announce the end of my tenure as the primary reporter for the NE prep community. As the last generation of wrestler whom I have personally wrestled with have graduated, I have exhausted my ability to contribute quality opinions on wrestlers I have never seen. Pat Murphy has volunteered to manage the rankings for the time being. A few other wrestlers have continued to guarantee to post their dual meet results. I however, will still be managing the administrative duties of the website including the software updates. My departure means that there will be a several opportunities to become more actively involved with this website. As always feel more than free to email: nerankings04@yahoo.c om

End of the Season: 2007
Every year, I try to summarize the year with a little note and every year I somehow do it way too late. So lets finalize this year.
A big thanks to our moderators this year. I would not have been able to manage the large volume of information and discussion if it were not due to their work in continuing in the development of wrestler's interests in the sport. Seth Rosen Nikhil Pereira Pat Murphy David Yahng There have been several major contributors to this website. I would like to thank you all and you should know who you are. Without people on this forum, there wouldn't be much to talk about and thus, we would have a very very lame forum. Most importantly I would like to thank all of the coaches who have been very helpful to us this year. While this website is used mainly by students and parents, having the insight from our teachers has been a valuable commodity. Most importantly, Coach Barron who has been responsible for getting most of our information verified. Coach Millard for organizing the Class A newsletter. Congrat s to all of you and most importantly, our seniors. There have been a lot of memories, win or lose, but whether you continue or not in this sport. You are and forever will be wrestlers. Season 2006-2007
The season kicks off tomorrow. Where will you be?
This year like every year should be exciting. Returners come with the momentum of last year. Wrestlers who fell short trained over the summer. Kids mysteriously "figure it out". New postgrads come in. Freshman athletes adapt. This year, we also have a new weight system. How teams will stack and adapt to the new weight cutting rules will be a new change. For alums like me, the new season is a chance to watch how wrestlers have matured over the summer and see that maturity grow during the season. An observation made in a Title IX arguement that I have seen is that wrestling is the only sport that doesn't discriminate against sex, race, height, weight, or disability. It is the only sport open to everyone and anyone with the heart to learn the art of grappling. Morever, like any sport, it is a path to push a person's mental and physical limits and train them for the real world. Learn to appreciate the victories that you have and the losses that you attain. Because in the end, they will all be learning experiences. Well enough of the mushy stuff, a few notes that people care about. We'll update the rankings soon and we'll start with all of our preseason buzz. I am proud to say that we have a very willing and eager staff this year handling the news and we'll do our best to keep wrestling the lively sport that it is. As always, we still need help on this website. If you are interested in giving a hand, please email nerankings04©yahoo.c om.
